Year Four Roman Day

Year Four Roman Day

Today,, Year Four enjoyed Roman Day. It was amazing to see so many children dressed as emperors, goddesses, empresses and Roman soldiers. The children had great fun making their own tile mosaics, laurel wreath crowns and dormice. They also made their own Roman shields and learnt about Roman numerals. They even played Roman numeral bingo, which they loved! In the afternoon, the children had a Roman feast and games. They had to lay on their side and eat with their hands just as the ancient Romans did. They discovered that porridge is tricky to eat without a spoon!
