Letter to Parents re: Mrs Goodwin

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is with a great sense of sadness and loss that I am writing to tell you that our Deputy Headteacher, Fiona Goodwin, passed away last Saturday. In spite of the wonderful care and medical support provided by her family, friends and doctors, the seriousness of her illness was such that she peacefully died surrounded by those close to her and loved by her.

I have already explained to the children what has happened and I have asked them to come to me with happy memories of Mrs Goodwin which many of them already have done. I know that you will join me in sending our deepest condolences to Mrs Goodwin's husband.

It is too early to know what we will be doing as a school to commemorate Mrs Goodwin and celebrate the 43 years that she has worked at William Ford but I will, of course, keep you informed of how we intend to do this.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Hopkins
