Science week begins on 12th June this year and many exciting activities are planned for the children, including our Family Challenge.
This year, your task is to help your child to design and build a marble run (a course for a marble to roll through). It needs to be designed to keep a marble moving for as long as possible and can be excitingly decorated if you wish. The choice of which design and materials to use is entirely up to you.
So that we can compare the marble runs fairly, I do need to place some restrictions on the size of them to stop them from getting too big. The base needs to be no larger than 60cm long and 60cm wide and the marble run itself must be no more than 1 metre tall.
Marble runs should be brought to school by Wednesday 14th June and we invite all participants (including family members) to join us after school on 14th June in our school hall to see the marble runs in action. Awards and prizes will be presented on Friday 16th June for the marble runs which keep a marble moving for the most seconds and for most inventive/creative design.
Many thanks for taking part and I look forward to admiring your ideas.
