We were thrilled to welcome Christian Foley to our school this week! Christian, a renowned rapper, musician, poet, writer and educator, delivered an energetic and inspiring whole-school assembly that captivated everyone from Year 3 to Year 6. With his fast-paced freestyling and lyrical creativity, he challenged the children to think differently about language and the power of words.
Christian then spent valuable time working with Year 5 and Year 4, teaching brilliant techniques in rap and poetry, helping pupils explore rhythm, rhyme and expression in a way that brought writing to life. His workshops were highly interactive, encouraging pupils to try improvisation and freestyle skills — techniques Christian himself uses in performances that have gained millions of views online and drawn praise from artists such as 50 Cent and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
It was a fantastic day of creativity and engagement, and we can’t wait to build on the inspiration Christian shared with us.
