At William Ford, we are proud of our church roots and celebrate that we are a school for children of all faiths and none. We are a school that is based on a Christian vision and values and is determined to provide a high-quality education to all pupils. A school that is inclusive of all pupils and relentless in developing the whole child.

Leaders encourage pupils to ‘thrive, not just survive’ here. Pupils enjoy the many exciting experiences that the school organises, including themed days, many educational visits and unique experiences, including visits to foreign countries. Pupils rate highly the many opportunities that the school organises within and beyond the curriculum.
Whether it’s celebrating dyslexia as a superpower, providing specialist support for children with dyslexia and dyscalculia, creating immersive learning environments, or giving pupils opportunities through initiatives like their own school radio station, every child is encouraged to believe they can thrive. What stood out most was the leadership of Headteacher David Huntingford and his exceptional staff. They have created a school where Christian values are lived out daily through kindness, aspiration, inclusion and a genuine belief that every child has unique gifts and potential. It is a place where children are given every opportunity not just to learn, but to flourish.
The work being done at William Ford Junior School is a powerful example of what is possible when inclusion, wellbeing, and student empowerment are placed at the heart of education. I was honoured to be a part of it this week.
I was genuinely impressed by the curiosity, confidence and thoughtfulness of the children. The team running the radio station were especially brilliant. They were confident, well prepared and asked some really thoughtful questions that made for a great conversation. You could tell they took real pride in what they were doing and it showed.
I had such an amazing day at William Ford C of E Junior School in Dagenham. I was a guest on their radio station. I tell you, they would give LBC a run for their money! I spoke about my journey to becoming an MP. This school is so good and achieves so much!
David Huntingford - meeting you, your thoughtful, ever smiling pupils and kind staff was even more magical for me. You are giving these young people perhaps the two greatest gifts one human can give another: hope and opportunity.
