Leaders encourage pupils to ‘thrive, not just survive’ here. Pupils enjoy the many exciting experiences that the school organises, including themed days, many educational visits and unique experiences, including visits to foreign countries. Pupils rate highly the many opportunities that the school organises within and beyond the curriculum.
This school changed everything for us. They never gave up on my son.
William Ford is an inspirational model of inclusive, community-rooted practice and stands as a remarkable example of what is possible.
The work being done at William Ford Junior School is a powerful example of what is possible when inclusion, wellbeing, and student empowerment are placed at the heart of education. I was honoured to be a part of it this week.
I was struck by the warmth, energy and dedication that shine through every aspect of school life. From leadership and learning to pupil voice and parental partnership, the school's inclusive ethos and aspirational vision are clearly embedded.
I have seen William Ford evolve into a place where every pupil is valued and supported to thrive. Leadership is exceptionally clear-sighted, resilient and unwavering in its determination to provide the very best for pupils despite significant challenges. William Ford is an inspirational model of inclusive, community-rooted practice.
Whether it’s celebrating dyslexia as a superpower, providing specialist support for children with dyslexia and dyscalculia, creating immersive learning environments, or giving pupils opportunities through initiatives like their own school radio station, every child is encouraged to believe they can thrive. What stood out most was the leadership of Headteacher David Huntingford and his exceptional staff. They have created a school where Christian values are lived out daily through kindness, aspiration, inclusion and a genuine belief that every child has unique gifts and potential. It is a place where children are given every opportunity not just to learn, but to flourish.
This school listens. There's good communication with teachers. My child grows step by step and flourishes. The teacher is energetic, so my child is too.
The imaginative curriculum and inspiring learning environment is planned with the vision at its heart. This ensures learning is supported and encourages constantly higher aspirations.
