This week Azraq tells us about the Year 6 Junior Citizen trip

On Tuesday, the whole of year 6 went on a private bus to a Junior Citizen trip which was also a competition.  When we got there, we were split into teams and had to complete a variety of activities which we were given points for. The activities were: A fire brigade one where we learnt how alarms went off and different ways to survive a house fire. A TFL one where we learnt about zip cards/oyster cards and how to behave sensibly on trains/buses when we travel to secondary school. A bikeability one where we learnt about safety on bikes, including wearing helmets and sensible clothes for riding a bike. Another bus one where we learnt about showing good manners to the bus driver. A Thames Water one where we learnt about different pipes and how to use toilets sensibly. We were also made aware of drugs and substances.  We also had a session on knives and knife safety.   It was a very useful trip as we learnt lots about keeping safe especially as we get older and join secondary school.  My favourite part of the day was the last two sessions as we got 25 points for each one and my team won!
