Raising Awareness of Modern Slavery and County Lines

Ride for Freedom speak to years 5 and 6.

On Thursday 22 October, we welcomed visitors from Ride for Freedom into school to speak to our Year 5 and Year 6 children about the important issues of modern slavery and county lines.

The sessions helped pupils to develop their understanding of how people can be exploited, the dangers of being pressured or manipulated by others, and the importance of recognising situations that may be unsafe. The children were encouraged to think about how to make safe choices, recognise warning signs and seek help from trusted adults if they are worried about themselves or someone else.

These important discussions supported our ongoing commitment to safeguarding our pupils and helping them to stay safe both in and outside school. We are grateful to Ride for Freedom for visiting us and helping our children to develop the knowledge and confidence they need to make informed decisions and protect themselves.
