Today we were delighted to welcome Amar Mehta, sports journalist for Sky Sports News, to William Ford C of E Junior School as part of our careers programme.
Amar spoke to pupils about his work in sports journalism, sharing stories about interviewing famous footballers and working both on and off camera. He also shared his personal journey, including being diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 21 and the determination it took to pursue his ambitions.
His visit was a powerful reminder that careers in sport go far beyond playing the game, and that persistence, hard work and belief in yourself can open many doors.
A huge thank you to Amar for inspiring our pupils and introducing them to a whole new career pathway.
