Dr Elizabeth Shaffer — William Ford's first international visitor
This week we welcomed Dr Elizabeth Shaffer, an occupational therapist, neurodevelopment expert and international speaker, who travelled all the way from Belgium to visit William Ford, our first ever international visitor.
Dr Shaffer shared her journey from a shy, quiet kindergarten child growing up in poverty to speaking in front of audiences of up to 500,000 people. Her message to our children was simple and powerful: what feels like a weakness today could become your career tomorrow, and a way to help others.
A wonderful morning, and a brilliant introduction to occupational therapy as a career too.
