Over the past few weeks, Year 4 have been taking part in an exciting hands-on project as part of our Young Marketeers experience, planting, nurturing and caring for our very own vegetables. This has been a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn more about where food comes from, how plants grow and the importance of patience, responsibility and teamwork.

From planting the seeds and watering them carefully to observing how they changed and developed over time, the children have shown great enthusiasm and commitment throughout the project. They have taken real pride in looking after their vegetables and have loved watching their hard work begin to pay off.

This project has not only helped to develop the children’s understanding of plants and growing, but has also encouraged them to work collaboratively, take ownership of a shared task and appreciate the effort involved in producing food. It has been wonderful to see their excitement as the vegetables have grown and to hear them talk so confidently about the process.

We are incredibly proud of all the effort Year 4 have put into this project and are excited to announce that they will be selling their produce at Barking Market on Friday 3rd July 2026. This will be a brilliant opportunity for the children to showcase all of their hard work and experience what it is like to take part in a real-life enterprise project.
