The Year 6 Leavers' Party is always a highlight of the school calendar, and this year's did not disappoint.

With a DJ keeping the music going all afternoon, and a menu of everything children love, pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets and fizzy drinks, there was plenty of fuel for an afternoon of sport, dancing and simply being together with friends. The sun seemed to know the occasion too, and the playground was full of laughter from start to finish.

For our Year 6 pupils, this was one of the last chances to be together as a class before they head off in different directions to secondary school, and it showed in every dance move and every game. It is always a bittersweet afternoon for the staff who have watched these children grow up, but seeing them so happy and so ready for what comes next makes it a joy rather than a sad one.

Congratulations to Year 6 on reaching the end of their time in junior school. We wish you every happiness and success as you move on, and we will be cheering you on from William Ford.
