Our vision calls us to serve and support our families with compassion and dignity. We recognise that flourishing is not limited to school hours, and we actively work to strengthen the wellbeing of the whole community, not only our pupils, but the families who stand behind them.

Our Christian Vision in Action

Jesus said He came so that we might "have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). At William Ford, we believe that promise is for the whole of a child's life, not just the hours they spend in our classrooms. When a family is worried about how to feed their children over the holidays, that worry follows a child back through our gates in September. To live out our Christian vision is to act with hope and generosity in practical ways, and to take seriously Christ's call to feed the hungry (Matthew 25:35).

About the School Food Bank

The William Ford School Food Bank is a school-led initiative, run in direct partnership with Felix (formerly known as The Felix Project), London's largest food redistribution charity. Through this partnership, we ensure that families connected to our school have access to essential food supplies throughout the year, with a particular focus on the school holidays, when the support of free school meals disappears but the need for food does not.

Our work has been recognised nationally, including a feature on Sky News, which explored the real pressures facing families trying to feed their children during school holidays. We were proud to show what one school community can do when it chooses to notice need and respond to it.

How the School Food Bank Works

• Who it's for: Support is dedicated to families and pupils connected to William Ford Junior School.
• Holiday support: During every school holiday, we distribute food parcels so that no child in our school community goes hungry.
• Year-round access: Alongside holiday parcels, families can access support throughout the school year whenever it is needed.
• In partnership with Felix: Our supply of food is made possible through Felix's work rescuing good-quality surplus food and redistributing it to schools and communities across London.

We know it is not always easy to ask for help, and we want any family who needs it to know they will be met with kindness, not judgement.
