This week Gregory from year 4 and Arya from year 3 write about the trip to France

Last Friday, Year 3 and 4 were lucky enough to be able to go on a trip to France. We had to get to school so early - 6am! Then we got a coach to Dover to catch the ferry to Calais.  We were even able to watch a film on the coach.  We sailed across the English Channel and had a lovely full English breakfast even though it was very windy on the deck.  When we got to France, we visited a French bakery and learnt how to make croissants and had a strict teacher who asked us questions in French.  We then learnt about the wood oven that baked the bread which was 50 years old.  We then went to a restaurant for a yummy meal. After that, we went to a snail farm and learnt about how the snail farmer looked after them.  Did you know that the French people eat snails?  We even tried them, and they tasted of lots of garlic and actually were very tasty. We then went back to Calais and watched another film. We then had another tasty meal on the ferry before arriving back at school at 10:30pm! It was very tiring but worth it as it was so exciting and interesting. See more photos from the day here William Ford Junior School - Y3/4 France trip 2024 (williamfordschool.co.uk)
