Year 6 Eastbrookend Country Park

As part of their learning in Geography and Science, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a visit to Eastbrookend Country Park on Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th May. The three Year 6 classes were divided into two groups, allowing all children the opportunity to explore this valuable local environment. During the visit, pupils walked around the lake and through the woodland areas, observing the different features of the landscape and identifying a variety of habitats and wildlife found within the park.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity to bring classroom learning to life. Children were able to deepen their understanding of the local area through first-hand geographical fieldwork while also exploring the habitats studied in their science lessons. As well as the educational activities, pupils enjoyed a relaxing picnic lunch in the field, spent time playing sports with their friends and made full use of the play park equipment. A visit to the tea shop for a well-earned treat, choosing either an ice lolly or a chocolate bar, was a particular highlight for many. The trip was both enjoyable and informative, helping the children to appreciate the natural environment on their doorstep while creating lasting memories with their classmates.
