On Wednesday, we visited Colchester castle and got to be archaeologists for the day. It was so interesting as we got to go under the castle and into the foundations, which was originally a Roman temple.  Did you know that Colchester castle and much of the city was burnt down by the Celts led by Boudicca!  We also got to build a Roman villa or a Celt round house and there were so many interesting things to see in the galleries. Like real Roman and Celt coins, jewellery, pots, helmets and more. There were even some skulls from the times that the Romans were in Britain. We recommend visiting the castle, especially if you are interested in learning more about the Romans as there are many artefacts to see.
