William Ford remembers at the cenotaph and in the school
On Tuesday 11 November, our School Council represented William Ford at the Remembrance Day service held at the cenotaph outside Dagenham Parish Church. The pupils joined the local community in the act of remembrance, paying their respects to all those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present.
During the event, our councillors met veterans who shared brief reflections about their service. This was a meaningful experience for our pupils who listened with great respect.
The entire service was live streamed back to school so that every child and member of staff could join in the silence and observe the act of remembrance together. This ensured that our whole community was able to take part.
Events like this support our vision of helping children to be successful, healthy, fulfilled and empowered to make a difference. Taking part in the act of remembrance helps pupils understand the importance of peace, service and unity.
