Last week, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed an exciting visit to the London Kayak School in Barking, where they had the opportunity to try kayaking.

After being fitted with buoyancy aids and receiving clear safety instructions, the children practised their kayaking skills in carefully supervised groups. They took part in a range of fun challenges, including standing up unaided on their kayaks and carefully swapping positions with their peers while out on the water.  They also had to race against each other to a set point on the water.

The pupils had a fantastic time and showed great enthusiasm throughout the session. As well as developing their kayaking techniques, they also strengthened their teamwork, communication and resilience skills. It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved!
